Can Disc Golf Plastic be Recycled or Not?

In the past I have pointed out that there are several examples of recycled materials finding their way into the sport of Disc Golf. Innova’s EchoSTAR plastic is made from recycled materials, as well as Gateway’s Wizard putter. The tee pads designed at Fly18.com are made from reclaimed rubber.

This Fly 18 Pad is made from reclaimed material.

Disc Golfers, in general, tend to be more “Eco-Aware” than the average human so I think the support is there for disc recycling if it is possible. I have read the Discussion Board over at PDGA.org and I saw it mentioned that the sun destroys much of what the disc manufacturers like in plastic to be used for discs. A disc that has been left out and exposed to the elements loses the properties that are manufactured into the disc in the first place. So what is to be done when you just made a taco out of your roc-o?

I know that plastic can be recycled. Can Disc Golf discs be recycled? If disc golf discs cannot be recycled into new disc golf discs can they be used in other products? What about some kind of accessory for a disc golf cart like a drink holder or something? I would appreciate any input on the subject so feel free to comment.
